It would have been thrilling to see this hyalyn exhibition up close and personal. The Raymor Capri and Casual Craft displays are awesome. The range of hylayn vase production is most impressive. The High Fashion exhibit is excellent also but what is that Red Wing T & C syrup pitcher doing there?

It was definitely the odd man out.

Beautiful! And what a great way to present this collection to those of us viewing it on the web. Thanks!

The exhibition is composed of the collections of several local collectors. I have been collecting Hyalyn for many years. Locally we have one collector who collects it all, and has an amazing range. I collect mostly the MCM pieces. There are several others who concentrate on Lax and MCM. Personally, I have lived in the Hickory area all of my life, and until I started collecting MCM, I really did not appreciate the coolness of the Hyalyn lines. They really produced some gorgeous pieces. Hopefully, it will boost some more interest in this quality producer of fine porcelains. The curator (Melinda) did a beautiful job on getting this together.

This looks like a great exhibition and one that I shouldn't miss.  I don't know the source of these pieces, but this exhibition sort of confirms a suspicion of mine that I shared privately with some people-- that someone (maybe more than one) over the last 2 to 3 years was acquiring MCM hyalyn pieces in mass via ebay and other sites.

I leave for a little while and look what appers! Amazing! I'v Been waiting for someone in the Hickory area to come out with this kind of stash.

I'm up in High Point N.C.   Will travle home to Atlanta thurs. And Catawba will be my first stop. Very exciting! Will post an update.

I bought a fairly large collection of hyalyn experimental pieces, and color (glaze)rejects a couple of years ago. Will try to find out what I can about them.

Some of the pieces as Mike said do raise some questions. I will see what I can find out. Hey Brad!

Immediately thought of Brad. And I second that bird bowl want. Mike, you amaze me. This user interface is butter, and fits wonderfully into your existing context. SO COOL. Scott, you have had some AMAZING posts of late. Thanks for the great photos.

Ditto Brad...WOW...WOW!  So cool that you shared these pics.  LOVE the format!  Brad, you must be drooling.  I want that Kalla tea pot.  A few years ago, I scored the big salad bowl it's next to, alas, it arrived at my door in many, many pieces.

WOW!

I notice that the "superball" is in the Lax case.  Does this end the inquiry in regards to hyalyn manufacturing it and it being a Lax design?

I want the bird serving bowl.  Gorgeous!

Re: hyalyn exhibition

Brad, definitely some of these pictures raise some interesting questions and that is certainly one of them.
