Russel Wright Manhattan Cocktail Lounge in Copper and Chromium. Vintage News. 1934.
"THE COCKTAIL BAR CREATES A DECOR: New Materials and Subtle Colors Contribute To an Effect That Is Smartly Contemporary."
Cocktail lounges were said to be recent additions to restaurants and hotels. Russel Wright designed a small cocktail lounge for a midtown Manhattan restaurant. The design featured copper on rough plaster walls; tabletops and trim in cork; and metal tubular supports covered in rattan for tables, chairs, and barstools. Photo is of a cocktail lounge by Morris Bernard Sanders.
