Roseville

Roseville Earlam & Mostique

I have yet to find a piece of Futura outside an antique mall but recently came across a small piece of Earlam (1930) and Mostique (1916) at a Saturday AM sale.  Seems extraordinary that the Earlam vase still has the red grease pencil marking (517) but it appears to be fairly common to find the marking intact.

Wow, love the Mostique piece.  The colors are so intense!

Excellent finds! I admire the glaze of the Earlam.

Re: Roseville

Great pieces, both.  I'm particularly fond of the Earlam piece.  It does seem to be true about the grease pencil number markings.  For some reason many of them have survived.  I purchased a matching pair of Futura vases a few years back and both had their number markings intact.

The glaze on the Roseville Earlam is sublime. Lovely shape, too.
