Kermis...

Years ago, when I first started collecting, I leafed through a copy of Red Wing Dinnerware by Bougie and Newkirk. It was right then and there that I decided I had to find Kermis. It was calling to me. Kermis is one of those patterns where the shapes are really so much better because of the decoration. Wouldn't you agree? Kermis without the decoration just isn't Kermis.

Bougie and Newkirk

Mike, I had the same experience. I would drool over the B&N book and dream of someday owning a set of Kermis. After all of these years, those darned Kermis nut bowls still elude me. Okay, that's it, I am moving to Minnesota! ;-)

Kermis envy

I agree - Kermis is just not Kermis without the Harlequin.  This is a very odd piece - it is the 10 inch bowl.  I've never seen the nut bowls in person.
