Raymor Informal

Raymor Informal
Well, there is little hope that I will ever find a Robin's Egg Blue stand to display this swinging coffee pot. So...thanks to raymordq, we were able to finally locate a Raymor Informal metal stand. Thanks Paul!
BTW, for those of you who love Ben Seibel's work--bookmark Paul's site--abenseibeldesign.com.

Re: Raymor Informal
Bravo! That blue looks very special set against that lovely Wakefield honey finish, too.
Re: Raymor Informal
Thanks Mike for the kudos. It looks great! Don't give up on finding an REB cradle; there was one in St. Pete about a dozen years ago... I would look at it and think, "where am I ever going to find the cofeepot?" Well, when I finally decided to buy it, it was gone!
A note to those who have the RMS "swing pots," DO NOT keep them displayed on their cradle or stand without a riser. I have heard horror stories of the pots crashing when those poor little arms crack off. I use plastic/lucite risers to display mine (placed in the cradle, but just tall enough to not have the arms support the weight of the pot). You can cut them down to size so it appears the cradle/stand is supporting the pot. I have given you fair notice!
I am always looking for Ben information....if you have any, please email at lets_dish@msn.com

I definitely have heard this story before, so my swinging coffee pot in the bookcase has a riser. Until I get one for this set, the coffee pot is back in the cabinet without the stand. I'm also concerned about the metal scratching the protruding arms. I will probably find something to fit in those V-shaped shoulders or whatever you want to call them.
Re: Raymor Informal
You can find plastic tubing to fit the arms at your local home improvement store (like the tubing used for air in fish tanks). People also use this tubing to protect the spouts of teapots.
Re: Raymor Informal
Now there's a good idea.

As Miss America I pledge to protect teapot spouts and RMS Swing pots
Re: Raymor Informal
Thanks for making me chuckle!
Re: Raymor Informal
Thanks for the tip. I never would have thought about that.
Re: Raymor Informal
If anyone wondered what 5 stars looks like, here 'tis.
Re: Raymor Informal
Mike, the Robin's Egg Blue coffee pot looks very sharp on the metal stand!
