Pottery Bowl
Fri, 12/16/2011 - 5:31pm
It measures appx. 5.5" wide x 9.5" long x 4" tall.
It is stamped "1096" on the bottom and also has a maker's mark(?) of some type of crossed tools. I also attached a photo taken from the side.

Re: Pottery Bowl
YES! It looks exactly like the mark on the bowl pictured in your second suggestion: Dümler & Breiden, Schale K 1588. Thanks so much-mystery solved. In fact that bowl is shaped just like mine. Wow!

Whatever it is, it's fantastic. How did it come into your possession?

Re: MCM Pottery Bowl
Thanks. Popped up on eBay with seconds left on the auction and no bids! Just couldn't leave it for $14.99.

Popped up on eBay with seconds left on the auction and no bids! Just couldn't leave it. I was also informed on another antiques site that it is probably not MCM but circa 1970s.

Re: MCM Pottery Bowl
I'm going to guess it's European. Possibly W. German. Can you add a pic of the base w/ the markings?
