Harmony House

Seriously Stylish!
Sears' Harmony House, Sunburst.
Unable to find any documentation about this pattern or line, for now, I'm just taking a guess that this was produced in the '60s. I even scoured some my vintage Sears catalogs hoping for smidgen of info! Any info you members might have would be appreciated. Based on the backstamp, these are china, and made in Japan.
Collector's note: The lid on the coffeepot was swiped from another one of the same shape, but in a ho-hum wheat pattern (Garland). The gold band around the top edge is probably not intended for this pattern. I would think it would be plain, like the sugar bowl. But a boy's gotta do what a boys gotta do... know what I mean?

Creamer
I love all of these. I especially enjoy the dimensions and proportions of the creamer. You have such great collections. P.S. Amazing how a simple gold line changes the whole look on that pitcher lid.
Down with the gold
What do you think about me trying to remove the gold-leaf band?
I'm sure you have seen china that has metalic silver edging, and a lot of times, that starts to wear-off. I was thinking about helping it along. I can't figure out if it's under or over the glaze though—I guess that's the deciding factor whether it will come off or not. Hmmm, perhaps running it through the dishwasher 800 times might get it going!!
Love it!
This is a great set, Chris. I love the "rice bowl" shaped sugar and the shape of the coffee pot. It all looks very mid-60s to me. Most gold embellishments are over the glaze, and it should be fairly easy to determine that on the lid. I had a Castleton Museum creamer that had a simple gold band and I successfully removed it with a little Soft Scrub and elbow grease. Just be careful not to damage the glaze! Here is an ehow method...

Thanks for the link...
I can't wait to try it out... I love this kind of thing!
Once again...
...your knack for finding obscure coolness amazes me. Fabulous share, thanks.
