Duplex

Mikasa Duplex, samovars, sugar bowls, and covered vegetable, d: Ben Seibel, >1971. This is one line that fools many into thinking it's a new item, truly timeless! It seems the plates came in many decorations (mostly mod florals), but the serving pieces came in these wonderful solid colors. Other colors available included blue, pink, black, brown, and even purple.

I have found that the samovars make great storage containers/canisters. I removed the spiggot by unscrewing the bolt on the inside, saved for future use if a samovar is needed again. The lids are just resting on top, like a typical canister would.

As soon as I locate an orange one, I'll have a nice little trio!

Nice shot

Great photo. It almost looks like a vintage promotional shot. Your point about timelessness never occurred to me, given the florals. The solid colors are fantastic. The covered casserole isn't easy to find in my experience.
