How fun is this?

Love it!
The colors are absolutely tangy!
Delightful!
I was just thinking what a terrific orange this is, but tangy says it perfectly! Didn't know you collected Luau...you must share a table setting sometime. I simply love this.
Luau
As a Metlox Luau collector myself, this is GREAT FUN! I love this pattern and you do it proud with a wonderful photo.

Oh cool, you too. It's a bit challenging to collect this, isn't it? There ae so many pieces I want, but have never even seen them before. I just assume if it's made for Navajo, or Pepper tree, that the same item is somewhere in the world with Luau.
I read someplace that this was only produced for one year. Did you ever hear that?
Just need my grass skirt...
This is a great pattern that seems to be difficult to find (at least in MN). I've got the teapot - that is about it. The stack of plates is so cool!

I agree that Luau is a bit challenging to collect -- some of the serving pieces seem scarce or even rare. I had not heard that Luau was only produced for one year. I don't have access to the Metlox book by Carl Gibbs Jr. at the moment but perhaps it references length of production. As I recall it, Luau (and some of the other related lines like Palm Springs, Mayan Necklace, etc.) were not as extensive as Navajo and Pepper Tree and therefore don't automatically include all of the same pieces. Luau does include the tall coffee pot which I have only seen once (on ebay about 5 years ago) and regret not buying ever since.
Nice
It's nice to see some serving pieces in this great pattern.

Wow! I thought I was aware of all the cool Metlox dinnerware patterns, but obviously I was wrong! This pattern is stunning, and in my 20+ years of scavenging, I have never seen it before.
