Viintage Cherner Chair with Mid Century Modern Floor Lamp
Over the weekend, I found this vintage metal floor lamp at an antique store. I love the simplicity of the design. I know, I always say that, but it's true! The yellow metal shade tilts and swivels. It looks brand new, with no damage anywhere. Unfortunately, there is no label or name. Regarding the vintage Norman Cherner chair: four years ago, I paid $6 to rescue it from the thrift store.

Man! That's one fantastic 6.00 rescue! A few years ago, I saw this same chair go for about 500.00 at auction. Re: the lamp...check ThriftyMlle's posts. She has an ID for it.

Just got my Design Within Reach catalog (DWR). They show this chair and give an interesting history of the lawsuit with Plycraft. The new price of this chair is $729. I think I have one with metal legs....was it made with metal legs?

It's a very interesting story and history behind the design of this chair. This one has wood legs. They are made with metal legs, but I'm not sure when these were produced.

I just checked the Cherner Chair website. To buy the chair most similar to this one would set you back $849. I like my price better! (:

Absolutely love the yellow Sonneman lamp. Sweet!
