Royal China

Royal China Far East
I have to confess that I have harbored a bit of a bias against Royal China. The reason being is that I grew up in a house where the Old Homestead pattern was used as daily china and I thought it was about the ugliest thing I had ever seen. Perhaps it seemed all the uglier considering that the previous everyday set had been Steubenville American Modern coral.
Even recently, when I would see posts of Royal China on this site, my reaction tended to be "meh." Well, I ran into this little partial set over the weekend and it has changed my mind. I really like the simplicity of the decal, the monochromatic color pattern, and the shapes of the pieces. I have done some research and have not been successful in finding this pattern mentioned anywhere. Is anyone familiar with it?
Sadly, it is limited to the covered sugar, creamer, 2 cups and saucers, 2 bread plates, and 2 dinner plates.

Wow! Nice find! Far East, now that's a new one for me. I like it very much. Terrific share, too...there's nothing like a new discovery to grab my interest.
Re: Royal China
This is a set I'd love to find more about! Very sweet find!
Re: Royal China
Another great pattern...
Re: Royal China
Very elegant design - and certainly one I've never seen before. Some time ago, I found a Royal China Collector's Club web page. It has an extensive list of known patterns, though this one isn't there. Definitely a great find. The Royal China Collector's Club web page is www.royalchinaclub.com/main/rccc_main.html. It appears to be a pretty small operation that hasn't been updated for some time. It's still a handy resource at times.

Awesome! another Royal pattern I've never see before.
I've spent too many hours on that Royal Collectors site clicking through the thumbnail patterns - I wish they had it set up better to be able to search for patterns, but it's been a helpful resource for me, even as it is.
