Possible Harvey Littleton Vase
Submitted by bitofbutter on Wed, 12/14/2011 - 2:10am
Possible Harvey K. Littleton Vase
We were scouring the shelves at our local thrift today and spotted this vase. It's signed on the bottom with "Littleton 1962" and the overall look of the signature is very similar to this Littleton piece. Apparently Littleton didn't create many vases, except for early in his career, which happens to fall in 1962.
Any help with this is appreciated. We'll be visiting our local university's library this weekend to look at a few exhibition catalogs as well.

Re: Possible Harvey Littleton Vase
Well, a twitter friend pointed us to this photo gallery (http://blackswampglassworks.com/penlandgallery.htm) that includes Littleton's first studio piece (apparently...but sadly, captions in galleries aren't always true). We've emailed the curator at the Corning museum and we'll report back with our findings.
