Libbey Cocktailer Set Pattern: Jewels

Libbey Cocktailer Set Jewels Pattern
This set is a real tribute to posters at MoDISH. I began with two glasses that I picked up at Goodwill and with a great deal of assistance from posters here I was able to locate and identify the specific set and year. I haven't found the set anywhere and was resigned to the fact that instead of keeping the glasses I would sell them to someone else who needed replacements. Well as luck would have it I happened across an unidentified set with only 3 glasses and snapped it up. The original set had 4 glasses. Now I have my set plus one extra glass. It will be a great addition to my collection at our little summer place. I can't wait to use it, although I'm not a cocktail person. :) In a couple of years I will offer it to the Toledo Art Museum's Libbey collection as I have a feeling these are not to common and there were none in the collection there during my last visit. Thanks again!!
Here is a link to the catalog and the set is located on page 20, Libbey Cocktailer Set.

That's a snazzy coktail set! It's so gratifying when one can take scattered pieces and reconnect them. Suggestion: you might use this set for mocktails, non-alcoholic mixes like "Baby Belinis" and such, which are so refreshing in the heat of summer. (Personally, I always like a dash of bitters in oj or tomato juice...).
Re: Libbey Cocktailer Set Pattern: Jewels
Great tip! Thank you!!!
Re: Libbey Cocktailer Set Pattern: Jewels
Oh, congratulations! I sometimes buy partial and hope I'll find additional pieces to fill them out, but it so rarely happens that way - you must have been particularly excited to find the pitcher!
Re: Libbey Cocktailer Set Pattern: Jewels
Yes I was! I rarely get this lucky and had given up on this particular set. At least there is one set still in excistance. :) Thanks for all your help on this!!!
Re: Libbey Cocktailer Set Pattern: Jewels
Hi -- I'm a complete n00b here, my first comment, and part of how I found this site was looking for info on these glasses. I picked up four yesterday for a weirdly low price, a little wear on the colors and the gold edging, but in otherwise fantastic shape. I had no idea there was a pitcher; I'll definitely keep my eyes open for that! Thanks for the info on them, and I think it's really cool that you're planning to donate them. They are wonderful!
Re: Libbey Cocktailer Set Pattern: Jewels
Very cool! I love this set and can't wait to use it some this summer as I get to feeling more up to doing things. And we're all N00Bs here. :)
Re: Libbey Cocktailer Set Pattern: Jewels
It's a great set and it's lovely to have them all reunited.
Re: Libbey Cocktailer Set Pattern: Jewels
What a super find!
I love the pattern - very festive. Might also make a nice serving set for lemonade in summer.
Thanks too for the linky. It was fun looking at all teh glassware. Very Mad Men era. Since that's also my era (well, at least when I was a kid) it brought back memories.

Re: Libbey Cocktailer Set Pattern: Jewels
What a nice set, complete with stirer. Thanks for the link to the catalogue.
Although I don't collect glasses, some have entered into my collection.
Cocktail making was such a social ritual back then. My parents had all the kit - shakers, martini glasses, Angostura bitters, ivory olive picks, etc. Now I think most people prefer a beer straight from the bottle! No fun or refinement there!!
It was interesting to note that amongst the glasses in the catalogue was only one 'wine glass' and only one size. So they didn't really cater to wine buffs!
