Erwin Kalla Hyalyn Set Found Today
Greetings! I found this trio today and knew immediately that they were something special although I was not familiar with the name hyalyn. Doing some research on the web brought me to this site, and, I decided to register right away! Some links and past posts I have found have helped me to identify these pieces as designed by Erwin Kalla for Hyalyn. I have also seen the line refered to as "Casual Craft" is this correct? Also, is there a "color name" that should be used to properly define this glaze color? Finally, I am planning to sell these in my shop at some point this fall so am looking for recommendations for pricing these. I cannot find a record of sales for any pieces like these, can anyone point me in the right direction? Many thanks!

Re: hyalyn
I'm kind of a neophyte at this so I can't help much, yet. But it is a great place to watch and learn. These pieces are wonderful!
Re: hyalyn
As a teapot collector let me say that is a KILLER score. Have never seen that design. Some kinda mod awesomeness there.
Re: hyalyn
Thanks Steve! I did see it in the link on this site to an exhibit last year, that is the ONLY place I have seen it. I will try to post here when I list these for sale. I am new to the site but I think there is a community forum where that would be appropriate?
Re: hyalyn
Welcome to modish. This is a great find indeed!!
Regarding modish etiquette, we discuss just about anything related to modern design and ceramics except prices and where something is for sale. However, when you registered, there was a place for you to post a link to your webstore or webpage. Also, you are permitted to post free classified ads.
Re: hyalyn
Thanks for the clarification; I want to stay within the ettiquette here! And, although I am a seller, I am also a collector, so, am planning to post pics for personal reasons, only business to document or get more info...thanks!

Modish appreciates your contributions and spirit of sharing.
Re: hyalyn
Great find! I've never seen this compote shape before and it's amazing. Does it have a mark on the bottom? I love the use of bamboo and rattan wrapped handles in this line.
Re: hyalyn
I haven't seen the compote either. Nice to know that it actually exists! Great finds!
Re: hyalyn
Hi, thanks for your interest all! Actually, the compote was the only piece that had the full name written out on it, thankfully, or it would have taken me a lot longer to identify these pieces!
I think I took a photo of the bottom of the compote and will try to attach here. I am new to this site so bear with me.
Re: hyalyn
Here is a detail of the compote wrap:
Re: hyalyn
Here is the top of the compote; it is truly gorgeous!
Re: hyalyn
Great find! Beautiful set, will make you want to hunt the rest of them down.
It was advertised as, Casual Craft is a smartly styled contemporary, out-door or buffet service line in earthly colors.
A complete line to serve your needs as well as your color styling. From the 50's
HAPPY HUNTING!
