Gladding, McBean and Company

Franciscan Oasis Milk Pitcher

Gladding, McBean and Company. Franciscan Ware. Eclipse. Oasis. Milk pitcher.

The Eclipse shape was designed by George Jensen and the Oasis pattern by S. Stanton.

Finding this pitcher in a Kansas antique mall labeled "Sanfranciscan Pitcher" for $9 gives me hope that good-stuff is still out there and MCM remains overlooked by most.

I think the Oasis  pattern has great mid-century appeal and I've always wondered why it seems to be so much less desirable than Starburst.

I agree. I guess that Starburst is such an iconic 1950's design that it is easy to discount how great Oasis is, too.
