Re: Georges Briard Wood and Glass Box
Wow. that's some cool sh** going on with the lid!
Re: Georges Briard Wood and Glass Box
Thanks, Steve!
Re: Georges Briard Wood and Glass Box
Wow very nice. I love all types of stained glass. What does the inside look like?
Re: Georges Briard Wood and Glass Box
The inside is all wood surface.
Re: Georges Briard Wood and Glass Box
Never made the connection that this was Briard. Interesting. So a-typical to see a Briard piece without his name in a corner somewhere.
Re: Georges Briard Wood and Glass Box
His name is in the corner, but it is gold and hard to see because the glass is yellow.
Re: Georges Briard Wood and Glass Box
Nice find. This is a cigarette box from a whole line of decor items Briard did, including end tables, lamps, etc. I believe the entire line is stained glass over foil. I have the table lighters in both color scemes.
Re: Georges Briard Wood and Glass Box
Nice lighters! Thank you for sharing them.
Re: Georges Briard Wood and Glass Box
I have an unmarked end table that matches the blue and green design that I never though was Briard until now (and I've had the think for at least 10 years). I'll photograph it and post it and we can decide if it is, is not, or might be!
Re: Georges Briard Wood and Glass Box
Sounds like you have the Briard end table. It's square, somewhat diminutive, with slender, tapered legs. Also, it's vague in my memory, but I seem to recall that the end tables were a three piece nesting set. I could be wrong, though.
Re: Georges Briard Wood and Glass Box
These really light my fire. They are the bomb.
Re: Georges Briard Wood and Glass Box
I've run across these on occassion.
