Federal Glass

Capri Beverage Set
I felt like I was having some Scott H. kind of luck yesterday when I found this mint-in-the-box set of Federal Capri glassware. As much as I love the glassware, I love the box graphics even more.

Re: Federal Glass
Ooh! I could use that kind of luck! WOW!
Re: Federal Glass
Well, look at that, wow!!
Re: Federal Glass
Bravo!! Fantastic score, Scott...competition for this set has become so cut-throat. Aren't the box graphics great? Federal really had it goin' on. One query...is that Fantasy stamped on the side of the box top? Federal was pretty good about stamping the pattern on their boxes, but this decoration was called Capri.
Re: Federal Glass
Thanks for the pattern name correction, Scott (the information has been duly updated). The pattern name is stamped on the box, but they used the same color ink as on the background pattern, so it is almost impossible to read.
Re: Federal Glass
Oh yes, I should have added that Federal stamped them, but legibility is another matter...hence my query. Thanks
Re: Federal Glass
One of my favorite patterns! I love the original box too. I'm pretty sure there were a few variations of the pattern, I've seen some with just blue and white and no gold.
Re: Federal Glass
There were indeed a few colors available...all with gold. (when I find them without the gold, it's because the gold was the first thing to succumb to the dishwasher) This decoration also came in black, sharing the pattern name Contemporary with one of Federal's other patterns, and came in white, and a very hard to find pink. I've also seen a set in red from the UK, but don't have any info as to whether or not it was Federal production.
Re: Federal Glass
That makes sense, I didn't think of the whole dishwasher thing.
Re: Federal Glass
These are stunning! And the box ain't have bad, either! :)
