Ernest Sohn Double Boiler for Orenson
Ernest Sohn Double Boiler
As promised earlier this week, here is my Sohn, which is no doubt a brother-to-another-mother of this Beverage Server by member Kracken. Notice however that this still has the original and second ball end on the burner cover. The legs remind me of a lunar lander.

Of course, this is amazing. Did you find it with Ernest Sohn tags? I would love to see the proof about Sohn on this, even though we strongly suspect.

I've seen this chafing dish (but too many dents to make me buy it) and I remember it having the Orenson mark--an M within a circle.

I can confirm that this is, in fact, Ernest Sohn Creations and distributed by Orenstein, from a 1962 trade ad that pictures this item. BTW, they said they had a catalog available! Oh, to own some Ernest Sohn/Orenstein catalogs! My ephemera collection really needs some info! By the time I had a chance to interview Ernest Sohn face to face in his home, he had thrown away all his company ephemera. So I don't even have photocopies of any original catalog materials.

It is lovely. I was thinking that my beverage dispenser might have been missing some kind of cover for the burner. Oh and mine does have the M in a circle and USA on the underside of the burner.

I just found this piece the other day with its original brochure, saying it's by Ernest Sohn.

That's a great photo. You know, you can easily post one of your own flickr pictures by clicking on the image icon in the textbox toolbar and upload your photo from your computer's desktop. It can be easily resized using this same image tool as well. Add photos you've taken to your comments or upload it to our gallery images or your personal modish blog.
