Ernest Sohn Creations Royal Octogon Coffee Pot
Looking for information on the Royal Octogon Coffeepot minus the percolator. Thank you
Re: Ernest Sohn Creations
This is from Sohn's "Contessa" line which was first introduced in late 1960 and continued to be sold througout the '60s. What ties this line together is the coat of arms decoration in gold--the shapes are not all octagonal as seen in your percolator, but generally they are more conservative. Sohn wasn't a "pure" modernist--he would design and sell more conservative shapes such as this if the market wanted them. This shape draws inspiration from 18th-century silver shapes.

Re: Ernest Sohn Creations
I once interviewed a designer that said that you could find almost all shapes in a silver vault in the UK.
Re: Ernest Sohn Creations
I think the design's a bit (well actually a lot) over-the-top, but I like it.
