Ben Seibel Jenfred Ware Hippo Bank
Ever since I first noticed this ever so sweet Ben Seibel design while flipping through Raymordq's wonderful http://www.abenseibeldesign.com website I wished I could have a hippo bank of my own, but, considering the prices being asked for any of the Jenfred Ware objects, had pretty much discounted the possibility barring a minor thriftstore miracle.
Then while browsing Ebay a few weeks ago for something entirely unrelated I stumbled across a sale listing this wonderfull little hippo without any Ben Seibel attribution whatsoever and a comparatively low starting bid, of course i was ecstatic, so I bookmarked the auction and waited the 6 days patiently hoping against hope that no one else with an eye for design might make the same discovery and bid against me. Finally the last few seconds of the auction came, my bid was placed and seconds later the hippo was mine for the opening bid!
I was very happy that day and happier still when he came in the mail a few days later!

Terrific!
Re: Ben Seibel
There are still bargains to be had on eBay! With diligence, Jenfred pieces also still occasionally turn up in thrift stores. I like the way the plating wears off with age. Congratulations.

Love it!
