Re: Anchor Hocking
Great packaging. Nice photo. I see the basic ingredients of a party klatch.
Re: Anchor Hocking
Right?! I'll just mix us up some hurricanes...
Re: Anchor Hocking
Was this a 60s set?
Re: Anchor Hocking
Introduction was ca. 1966 and discontinued by 1970.
Re: Anchor Hocking
Very nice and I love the graphics on the packaging!
Re: Anchor Hocking
Scott, you are so lucky! This color (Mardi Gras) in Soreno is probably the hardest color to find. Nice score!!
Re: Anchor Hocking
I know...I didn't think I'd ever own any.
Re: Anchor Hocking
OMG, the elusive Mardi Gras! Very nice :)

There is something extra special about finding something in its original box! Not only does it make the research piece a snap, it also provides a bit of ambiance to the peice...easy to do a time travelling day dream and think about it being on a shelf in a store that no longer exists (but we remember from our childhood)...and an excited woman all decked out in her psychedelic mini-dress and white boots carrying the box to the counter to purchase it for an upcoming party! Ka-ching goes the cash register!

The graphics are wonderful, and yes, finding something in the original box makes the whole experience that much more fulfilling. Even if I don't care about the item(s), I make sure to give original boxes a once-over. Sometimes it seems like more attention went into the graphics / packaging design then the design of the product itself.
Re: Anchor Hocking
Is it just a reflection, or is there a little bit of iridescence in the finish as well?
Re: Anchor Hocking
Just a reflection...they're really shiney.
Re: Anchor Hocking
We had this pitcher in dark green when I was a kid. Not sure if we had any glasses or not. Forgot all about it until I saw this photo. We mixed up many a batch of Kool-Aid in that pitcher! Also mixed a ton in a hobnail milk glass pitcher - which I DO still have!
