Ak-Sar-Ben

Ak-Sar-Ben
Ak-Sar-Ben Mark
Ak-Sar-Ben Covered Dish

Ak-Sar-Ben. Ak-Sar-Ben Ware.

This is one of those hybrid shapes where there are modern features along with a finial that is more traditional. I'm posting this here because this is the first one of these found (thanks nostalgiaholic!) and the mark is particularly interesting and we should add it to our marks database.

We know only a little about this pottery from Nebraska.

So this is an individual dish, and not a family style casserole? That glaze is as inviting as a Granny Smith apple!

It's really cute.  I love the finial paired with the modern lines.

Boy, your photographic skills are spot on.  In addition to the finial, I don't think I've ever seen this flecked glaze from Ak-Sar-Ben, either.
