Lighting
Thought I would give up some secrets about lighting these shots. I use a digital SLR with a flash mounted on top which rotates and adjusts for what is called 'bounce flash.' It is a great way to get even, diffuse, natural-looking lighting indoors for shooting both people and objects. Works great in a ranch house like mine with low, white ceilings. Another trick used by photographers (if your flash doesn't adjust) is to diffuse the flash through a 'softbox.' This can be a translucent soft plastic accessory which attaches over the flash, or it can be a simple piece of mylar or wax paper taped over the flash if you have a small camera. Tape the mylar in an arch shape to broaden the distribution. These techniques remove the harshness of the flash.
Thanks for this advice. I
Thanks for this advice. I need to buy a new digital camera someday and when looking for the flash, I'll try to find one that has a rotating flash. Any suggestions for digital cameras under a $1000?
Great RMS table setting
As a big fan of RMS, it's always great to see an attractive table setting like this. The Autumn Brown and Terra Cotta glazes look fantastic together. You've got great talent for setting a table. Thanks!
Craig's Settings
I agree! Every one of Craig's table settings he posts here is stunning, and this is definitely no exception.
