Common Ground: Ceramics in Southern California 1945-1975

Common Ground: Ceramics in Southern California 1945-1975

There's an exhibit at the American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona, CA, entitled "Common Ground: Ceramics in Southern California 1945-1975."  It's part of the "Pacific Standard Time" series of exhibits in southern California this fall/winter.

"Pacific Standard Time" is a collaboration of more than sixty cultural institutions across Southern California coming together for six months beginning October 2011 to tell the story of the birth of the Los Angeles art scene and how it became a new force in the art world.

Should be a winner...

I went to see this exhibition and on the opening night which was unintentional but it was quite fun!  This is in AMOCA's new space, a renovated bank building.  It is quite an extensive show with many heavy hitting studio potters represented as well as many lesser known ones--and many, many gorgeous pieces!  I would highly recommend seeing it if you're in the LA area anytime soon.
