Mid-Century Modern Ceramics

Western Stoneware Company. [Marmite]. Eva Zeisel. 1952. This glaze has been identified as being a finish found on sets with the Western Stoneware mark. Thanks to Scott Vermillion for this information.
Hyalyn Pottery. Casual Craft. Erwin Kalla. Salad Bowl. Special thanks to Scott Vermillion.
Hyalyn Pottery. Casual Craft. Salad bowl. Side view.
Mayer China. [The Equestrian]. Dinner plate. <1930>. This Art Deco style plate has an undocumented Mayer backstamp. Based on the backstamp & design style, this plate appears to be from 1920s-1940s.
Crooksville China. Just when you might think nothing modern can come from Crooksville, here is this simple dinner set in pink & black. Based on this color scheme, one might guess this is c.1954.
Bennington Potters. Tumbler.
Mt. Clemens Pottery. [Mt. Clemens North Star]. At first glance this looks like Salem's North Star, but its not. This quasi quasar is also quasi modern--a hybrid of a traditional shape with modern decal. Hybrid styles like this were common during the mid-century.
