1939 NY World's Fair Cigarette Box

1939 NY World's Fair Cigarette Box
Have always been interested in the images from the 1939 NY World's Fair, and this cigarette box has been in my collection for several years. It treads a fine line in that it's at the same time rather primitive and yet refined. The lid depicts the Trylon and Perisphere; the exterior glaze is nicely crazed; and the interior is in a glossy gun metal glaze. I've never really been sure if this was a production piece or the work of an amateur potter. Does anyone recognize the incised mark on the base?
